Doctor Who in the USA

Okay, kids, now's your chance. The British 2005 season of Doctor Who, which is fantabulous, is airing in the US starting tonight, on the Sci-Fi Channel. Make your popcorn, set your TiVos, and WATCH.

No previous experience with Doctor Who required.

No previous science fiction fandom required.

No really. People have loved it without either of those. The leads are solid and the stories are too. Past fans will have to get over the lack of wobbly sets and on-the-cheap F/X--they did it thoroughly this time around. Give it a shot, tonight at nine, or check the rerun schedule.

*sly voice* "Try it, you'll like it."

... man, now I need some Doctor Who icons that aren't spoilery for this season for you guys...

I may give it another shot. People keep raving about how good it was, but [livejournal.com profile] aiela and I gave up after three episodes when we were watching it on CBC last year.

Seconded. "Dalek" is a great episode.

And yeah, not so much about the episodes with the Farting Aliens.

This is part of the reason why I'm pissed that Comcast stole SciFi away from analogue cable.

Oh yes. The new Doctor Who is good stuff.

Everyone should try it. If they tried it, they'd see. Then they'd understand.

Then they'd be one of us.

There's life beyond Battlestar?
Ah well, I suppose I can have a fling with the Doctor while my Twu Wuv is on hiatus...
