Bad timing

I didn't think it necessary to remove the WTC from the Spiderman trailer, but perhaps. On the other hand, I can't think of any decent reason for Harrison's Flowers to be released to theaters right now. "When a Newsweek photojournalist disappears in war-torn Yugoslavia, his wife travels to Europe to find him." Somewhere between the line "Something would have broken inside of me if he were dead" and "I'm going wherever I have to go" it became clear to me that the studio releasing this picture had given no consideration to the feelings of, say, any woman actually *in* a situation mirroring this lately. Good thing there aren't any. Right.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Jeez...

Yeah.

That's what I said, yo. I was certain I'd misheard what they were saying, because no way should that picture be in theatres right now.

The fuck is their rationalisation? "Well, it's only one person..."

I'm with you on the WTC issue.

They were there. They were pretty big. They're still a symbol of the city, possibly now more than before 9/11.

No one mourns the buildings (well, maybe some people), and putting them out-of-sight and out-of-mind doesn't really accomplish anything.

I agree totally on the WTC should not have been edited out of Spiderman. I think the release of Harrison Flowers given the Daniel Pearl incident in Pakistan is deplorable.
