Whee! Combine the rumor I mention here with this article and it's all good. (Those avoiding Angel casting discussion should refrain from the upi link.)

James Marsters is playing the husband in the movie based on the play Venetian Heat (the upi article says the movie is titled Italian Heat, but I'm skeptical). In the play, the husband is seduced by the older of the two deserters. If the remaining big names we know are in the movie play the two deserters, that means Jacobi and Marsters portray a couple. Wheeeeeee! Wheeeeee!

Sean Bean would then be the younger deserter, who seduces Marsters's character's wife.

Whee! Such pretty, such lack of subtext, such oh!

After checking out the summary for the play it seems more likely that Jacobi will be the evil fascist Priest who threatens the foursome. It also says that the wife takes to the young army deserter who is innocent in the ways of love (somehow that doesn't scream Sean Bean to me) so it might just be Sean Bean and James Marsters as the gay couple.

I guess we'll know once the film starts shooting in September, for now we are not even sure of what the title is going to be.

Sorry to be spamming you out of the blue but I can't get anyone around me to be interested in this and a google search on Venetian Heat and Sean Bean yielded your journal.
